Product Application

 

The KS-ASTM series AC arc suppression device is a new patented product developed to address the inherent arc burn issues in contact-based electrical switches such as contactors, relays, circuit breakers, and microswitches (hereinafter referred to as "switches"). The device is designed for AC systems and can suppress the generation of electric arcs during switch disconnection. They effectively solve issues such as contact sticking and burn damage caused by high-temperature arcs. The device can extend the electrical lifespan of switches by up to 100 times, significantly improving safety and reliability, prolonging the lifespan cycles, and reducing maintenance costs. These eco-friendly electronic products offer high social and economic value.

Product Working Principle

 

The product integrates power components and an arc monitoring drive unit, which are connected in parallel with the switch. During the disconnection of the switch contacts, the internal arc monitoring drive unit detects when an arc is about to form across the contacts. This triggers the power components in parallel with the switch contacts to bypass the current. The current flows through the power components, and no current passes through the switch contacts during disconnection, thereby preventing arc formation and achieving arc-free disconnection.

 

Product Usage Notes

 

1. The rated voltage and current values of the arc-free device should be no less than the rated values of the switch that needs arc suppression.

2. To ensure the arc-free effect, the stable closing time of the switch being suppressed should be greater than 100ms.

3. The arc-free device should be installed adjacent to the switch that requires arc eliminating. The wire diameter should not be less than 1mm² (17AWG), and the length should not exceed 500mm. The electrical connection should be firm and reliable.
